Blocks Cycle XC8: 8 Hour Enduro MTB Race Hosted by the Offroad Syndicate Buffalo Pound Provincial Park, August 26th, 2006 Another successful year for the Blocks Cycle XC8, with more fun, food, prizes, and riders than ever before. Buffalo Pound Provincial Park was host to riders from all over Saskatchewan and a large group of friends from across the border in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The competition was fierce in each category with the number of entrants up significantly from 2005. For the second year in a row, we saw an out of province racer (on a singlespeed bike) capture the solo male trophy. Congrats to 2006 XC8 Solo Male Champion, Patrick Humenny from Winnipeg, MB. Not to be outdone, Naomi Humenny captured the 2006 XC8 Solo Female trophy. The Humenny husband and wife duo was unstoppable -- Congrats to both of these amazing athletes. In the Team Categories, our very own ORS Team "Insidious" (Dave Bitschy and Kris Abrahamson) captured the 2-Person Open title. Team "Doug's Your Uncle" (Ward Koenig, Kurt Stushnoff, Moxy Makkos and Boh Myrchak) were the winners from the 4-Person Open category. A time prime of -2:00 was offered to the first person in each category to reach the top of the 1/4 mile climb. Cory Zetterstrom from Saskatoon was the first racer to the top of the hill, other prime winners indicated below (*). The ORS would like to give a giant thank you to our many volunteers and sponsors.
