Western Cycle XC8: 8 Hour Enduro Mountain Bike Race

Over 100 racers competed in the 7th Annual XC8, sponsored by Western Cycle.
Despite the intense prairie heat, three provinces competed for Enduro glory and Manitoba prevailed! Manitoba's David Dorning and Seema Saini captured the Solo Male and Solo Female titles respectively and took home $250 each. Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta were present on the Male Solo podium this year.

For the Teams, Chile con Bacon crushed the 2-Peson category (Pedro having the fastest laps of the day helped), but there was a 10 second difference between 2nd and 3rd place! In the 4-Person category, nobody could touch team ShaneToddBradAndy who finished 11 laps and never looked back even after losing a member to injury. The 4-women team "Chicks Ride the Hardest" competed wonderfully in the category and had tremendous team spirit -- we have not heard that last of them!

Best Team name went to "Chicks Ride The Hardest", Fastest Lap to Pedro Peralta, Best Climber to Brad Clifford, Best Crash to Fritz Schumann, Cory Elek and Christine Martin remained the Female Doubles champions for another year, and the Cannondale Bike was won by Dmitry Zuev from team Tundra (Alberta).
